Your Weekend Challenge

Before I get to my challenge for you ....

We're in the middle of a heat wave - and I'm NOT complaining!! I love the heat of summer .... but ..... at 11pm last night the inside of my house was a whopping 29 degrees Celsius (or 85F - for my American friends). That's INSIDE my house people!!! And with no air conditioning, and apparently - no breeze last night either!!!

So both my husband and I started out sleeping portion of the night outside on the back deck (which I love doing anyway). I'm not sure when he crawled back into the house, but he had already gone when I crawled in at 2:30am because I was cold. I was so tired, I didn't care what the temperature was inside. Besides - I kept having dreams of raccoons crawling into my sleeping bag with me. I don't trust those raccoons - they look innocent enough - but they are one creature where looks ARE deceiving!

I'm sure it will be cooler tonight, but it is Friday so I can sleep in late tomorrow no matter what.

Now - - on to my challenge for you (picture a big pointy finger wagging itself at you). I want to hear about, or see "What's On Your Fridge?". Are you a neat freak who wants a naked fridge? Is your fridge filled with your childrens artwork? Pictures of every animal you ever had? What's on your fridge?

And in the interest of full disclosure ....

This is my fridge! I love putting pictures on my fridge - as you can well see. Family friends, family, bits of (other) childrens artwork, magnets brought back from other peoples trips, ..... a plethora of stuff and momentos. Once in a while I'll go through and tidy them up a bit, take some down, rearrange .... but mostly this fridge door brings a smile to my face when I most need it. It represent many people that hold near and dear to my heart.

What's on YOUR fridge? Post something of your own, or or just tell me about it. Either way - inquiring minds want to know.

My fridge is pretty much a collage like yours...I also have fridge magnets with my children's faces that we always get at parties being held at play parks. I also have timetables and upcoming events...Definitely not neat...but quite creative.

What really matters though is what's inside...and at the moment, there's a giant unfinished pavlova inside my fridge. YUMBO!!!! Infact, I came to blog so that i could forget about it...but there goes that thought!

In the summer, I try to make it clear if possible. I post a calendar there during the school year for all of the kids activities. When summer comes, I make this big deal about taking it down and vowing not to live by schedules. Yeah, those days are gone now that one is off to college and the other is in high school.

I have that calendar, a little noteboard, a magnet with an inspirational saying, and a silly photo of Em. That's it. And that feels crowded to me.

PC & Lin - Thanks for sharing your side of the cooler. It's always interesting to me to see how other people live. But then again - I think that's one of the reasons we blog, isn't it?

Oooh, I'd be a'scairt to sleep outside! Never mind racoons -- what about SERIAL KILLERS? Still, if my house was 85 degrees and outside was the only alternative, I might have to . . . well, go without sleep, I guess.

I recently took off the 100+ photos on my fridge and have been gradually adding new ones. Photos are my favorite thing to have on my fridge. Always a conversation piece when people gather in the kitchen.

I always intend for the fridge to be decorated but orderly. Like how it might should look were you hosting an open house to sell it. But it just morphs into a huge out of control collage of photos, clippings, drawings and humorous items of randomness. Something on it always brings a smile to my face. I imagine yours will soon be overtaken by your new niece.

Oh, this is such a fun idea. Mine doesn't have anything much. A picture of college friends, a note pad, few random free magnets. I'll post a picture of my fridge on my blog and see if others will.
