An Odd Conversation between Man and Wife

My husband and I have been entertaining the thoughts of purchasing our first home. The real estate market has finally turned in our favour, and the plethora of choices are before us.

Specifically this week were were talking about the 'must haves' for our potential new home, and some of the documented 'don't do's' in purchasing.

One of the 'must haves' from me is a minimum of three bedrooms, one good size master bedroom, a spare bed room for visitor's or more specifically - the In-Laws, and one other room as an office. We also need space for my crafts and the husbands model trains, but that's an entry for another day.

One of the 'don't do's' that hubby read about was that you should never get into a new home and immediately purchase all new furnishings. Instead, you should move in and get get a good feel of the place and how your lifestyle fits into it.

When the hubby told me about this my first response was "I'm sorry, but there is one necessary purchase that will have to happen!"

"What's that?" he said.

"Twin beds" I replied.

My hubby's face fell momentarily, then began to gather serious storm clouds, and just before he was about to retort my request I followed by saying "for the spare room for when your parents visit. I don't want your mother sleeping on our couch any longer."

Relief flooded his face as he realized his assumption jumping thoughts had almost got his tongue in trouble.

I haven't heard from or received back any of the journals that were sent out. I'm assuming they are in someone's basement or holding up a table with a bad leg. :)
