The Box Said "Golden Blonde"

Who knew there was so much red in "golden"? Who knew my gray hair would take red so well?

I came to the decision it was time to update my colour, but that I also wanted to go just a tich darker, warmer, blonder ... So I chose the box, in my regular brand, a number or two higher. "Yes!" I thought to myself, "This will be a nicer, warmer, dark blonde."

It's official - for the next few weeks I'm a red head!!

Four years ago or so, I purchased another colour with - what I thought would be - burgundy or auburn highlights. Little did I realize that I would be channeling Lucille Ball in her hay days. It was a shocking bright red.

Thankfully today, as I look in the mirror, its still red, but a nicer, warmer, dark blondey red. I can deal.

And thank you Lord! I never use 'permanent'!!!

Oh - haha! Love the Lucy picture. Our crazy kitten is named after her. But back to your post, and my desire to comment. I got my hair colored back in the fall, a week before my brother's wedding (which I was in). My stylist gave me a choice of 2 different "hues" of brown. I chose the redder looking one thinking it looked more natural on me with auburn instead of blondie. It looked so nice in the salon. Then in the daylight in the car I thought it looked a tad - bright? Then when I got home it certainly was bright - but purple highlights - not so much red. I washed and washed and looked at it again in the morning to see if it magically improved. Nope. The salon was closed the next day and I couldn't get an emergency appt. for another few more. I went in and got it fixed for free 2 days before the wedding and will NEVER pick anything with a red "hue" again.
