I'm finally feeling ahead of the game

Last night I garnered shear inspiration. And with that inspiration came a trip to a local craft store. While rummaging around said craft store my mind was set afire with a new idea to try.

The long and the short of it was I crafted all evening.

I have a friend who loves watering cans and I came across a pattern to make a paper one. Since Christmas is just around the corner I thought I could use the pattern and make her a Christmasy type waterong can. But once finished it it seemed incomplete. For the life of me I couldn't find small poinsettias to finish off the look.

This is where the lightning bolt hit me while I was in the craft store. How hard could it be to make small poinsettias out of ribbon. Here's what I came up with ...

This was seriously a fun thing to figure out.

What I originally went to the store to get was glass beads to finish of some tree ornaments I'd made. This project was also a lot of fun, and very easy.

I think I'll either adorn these to the top of a present, or give them as a gift by themselves (I'm cheap that way).

Here's another one.

I'm having fun, and I LOVE IT when a plan comes together.

In fact - - I had so much fun creating these that I will make and send a watering can or tree ornament of your choice to the first three commenters on this entry. You can even dictate the colours, or if its the watering can then you can tell me the occasion that you want it for (the watering can can be for holiday or celebration). So, what do you say?

If you just want to comment, but don't want a prize that's ok too. I'm just happy when someone drops by to visit.

Oh, love it! It's so much fun to improvise on the spot and come up with fabulousness! Hey, perhaps you want to do a trade? I'm going to sell at a craft show tomorrow but then my stuff will be back on Etsy. I have a felt tree ornament that might have your name on it .... ?

Craft on, creative lady!

SQUEE!! YES, jumps up and down. Suh-weet. I love those ornaments! Now the watercan is really cute as well, but the ornaments really caught my eye.

Hell, if I were more motivated, I would make those for myself. But, uh, seeing as I am rockin' number three, maybe I don't have to :)

Even though I'm too late to win a free gift (I would have chosen the watering can) I had to take a minute and tell you how much I enjoy photos of your projects. I don't have a creative cell in my body, so people like you seem like magical beings! Thanks for sharing!

A delightful and resounding response. Thank you. All commentors here will receive a prize (even Carolyn). And I'd be thrilled to make the 'exchange' with Becky. That would be fun.
DLC - you cut it close but because you geographically ...

dlc I don't even know you, but you seriously made my day! I'm jacked knowing that I slid into home just 8 minutes before you did.

Yes! But LJ is a kind and loving blogger so she'll probably give you my ornament since I'm being a competitive punk.

I am impressed. I mistakenly found myself wandering through the crafting aisles of Michaels last weekend and felt as out of place there as I do at Home Depot. That you could even figure out what to do with all those beads and gules and fabric and paper is way above my abilities. That you enjoy it is even more flabbergasting (is that a word?). I love them all. The ornaments especially.
